Oh dear.. we've got a mouse in our house!
How do you know this Jean?
Well on Saturday morning I purchased some of the most tastiest baby Rosa tomatoes..
put them in my special blue/white little bowl and placed my bowl on the counter.
I always keep my tomatoes out of the refrigerator.. at room temperature.. they are just the best this way!
Yesterday morning.. I discovered 'somebody' had been nibbling on them!
Dash.. ok.. little mouse.. my gloves are out!
I don't mind you eating one of them, but to nibble on all 20!!!
Unless you have a family with you?
Oh no!!! Are you as pretty as my little mouse?
How many children do you have Mrs Mouse?.. or are you a Mr?
How big is your family?
Our family is a circle of love and strength,
with every birth and every union
the circle grows,
Every joy shared adds more love,
every crisis faced together,
makes the circle stronger
So......
We set 2 x traps last night.... with the favorite tomatoes..
and this morning.. the traps had been set off..
but no mouse, thankfully!
You see.. we live on a golf course, with lots of Australian bush all around.. bird life is prolific..
and I guess the field mice as well!
And its that time of the year now!
Spring has sprung.. and everything is eating and producing!
So this morning.. it was moving day for me and my kitchen..
Move the fridge.. look behind.. NOTHING,
Move the dishwasher.. look behind.. NOTHING,
Move the microwave.. look behind.. NOTHING,
So.. continue through the lounge room..
Look under the couches.. all sealed.. NOTHING
Look behind the Television cupboard.. NOTHING..
By now.. the whole house has been turned upside down, and inside out.. and still NOTHING!
So.. tonight!?
I'm sitting on this chair in the kitchen.. waiting!
My umbrella, my pile of books and me!
Watch out! This is my house.. go next door please!
Do you like sharing your house? Do you have a cat I can borrow please?
Aah.. I know..
These dear little clay figures were made by the little deaf Chinese boy Tom Lai we were weekend house parents for.. about 15 years ago!
Miss mouse has lost her tail..
the cat has lost her one ear,
the Dusty the dog still barks though!
Tonight they are going into my blue bowl
hopefully,.. the mouse will get the message!
And will be just a memory by tomorrow!
Daylight
See the dew on the sunflowerAnd a rose that is fading
Roses whither away
Like the sunflower
I yearn to turn my face to the dawn
I am waiting for the day . . .
Midnight
Not a sound from the pavement
Has the moon lost her memory?
She is smiling alone
In the lamplight
The withered leaves collect at my feet
And the wind begins to moan
Memory
All alone in the moonlight
I can smile at the old days
I was beautiful then
I remember the time I knew what happiness was
Let the memory live again
Every streetlamp
Seems to beat a fatalistic warning
Someone mutters
And the streetlamp gutters
And soon it will be morning
Daylight
I must wait for the sunrise
I must think of a new life
And I musn't give in
When the dawn comes
Tonight will be a memory too
And a new day will begin
Burnt out ends of smoky days
The stale cold smell of morning
The streetlamp dies, another night is over
Another day is dawning
Touch me
It's so easy to leave me
All alone with the memory
Of my days in the sun
If you touch me
You'll understand what happiness is
Look
A new day has begun
Hopefully my house is mine again.. and they've moved away!
