Yes.. its a Marena Y Sol silk caftan !!
I am over the moon with it! and want to go to the moon and back in it as well!
Ok.. I hear you say.. who is Marena Y Sol?
Well, first Who is India Hicks?
Early life
The third child of Lady Pamela Mountbatten and David Nightingale Hicks, a celebrated interior designer of the 1960s and 1970s. Through her maternal grandfather, The Earl Mountbatten of Burma, she is a second cousin to The Prince of Wales, and also in line to succeed to the British throne.
Raised in London and Oxfordshire, she was educated at Gordonstoun until she was expelled for entertaining boys in her room, and spent holidays at the family estate in Irelandand at her father's self-designed and built Bahamian-holiday home. In 1981, she served as bridesmaid to Lady Diana Spencer at her wedding to the Prince
India Hicks and I go back a while ago....
I started a 'love affair' for all things she spoke about in her book
and I pour myself through its pages every now and then!
and then get some more and more.. inspiration for more projects around my home..
I modeled our home in sunny Queensland, Australia after her images I saw in those pages..
This is one of her signature candles.. it smelt superb whilst it lasted.. I was sad when it was finished, but the container is often filled with other candles.. and its legend lives on.. |
Big bowls of freshly cut palm trees are a MUST!
aah.. I buy her range of products .. THEY are just wonderful ..
regularly from
now I notice she's launched a new range.. mmm Can't wait for that to arrive!
sorry.. I've got off the track a bit..
So back to my wonderful new caftan..
Now I can't wait for the occasion to wear my beautiful caftan! And its happening soon!
I've planned a 'Girls only Luncheon' on 18 January at home..
and the invite was fashioned after my love for my Ginger Jars..
I wish you could all come for lunch!
