Hanoi way back then... aah when life wasn't so busy or rushed! |
Thankfully these days, we still have time to talk to a good friend on the busy streets! |
Most people those days used a Cyclo or walked about.. not many cars or mopeds in Hanoi |
These days, this lovely ol' Citroen still gets used, but only on high days and holidays.. |
One thing remains the same in Hanoi today?.. yes.. you guessed it.. the lake hasn't change at all! |
Turtle pagoda still in the same place.. its still the favorite place for thai chi in the mornings, and for lovers holding hands in the evenings.. | |

Hanoi has been inhabited since at least 3000 BC. One of the first known permanent settlements is the
Co Loa citadel (Cổ Loa) founded around 200 BC.
Hoan Kiem Lake, also known as Sword Lake, is the historical and cultural center of Hanoi, and is linked to the legend of the magic sword. West Lake (Hồ Tây) is a popular place for people to spend time. It is the largest lake in Hanoi and there are many temples in the area.
