When decor inspirations arrive at your door.. can you just ignore that feeling?

I've been 'feeling like' getting involved with a spot of home decorating for ages.. 

our study needs a makeover!

No.. I'm not finished yet.. but the process has started..

 I get so easily side tracked when I'm on Pinterest! 

 The common factor in both these pics is.. greenery! 

 Ok.. so grey is good.. yes.. grey with dark mahogany wood desk will be marvelous.. 

Green I said Jean.. not grey.. yes, but I like grey! (at the moment).. 

 

 Grey with white .. yes.. yes.. at least I've got a color palette to work with.. 

 And theme?.. well.. to me there's nothing quite like straw color! 

 And palm leaves.. back with the greenery Jeanie! 

and our book shelf needs a make over desperately..

Aah.. its not such a quick job actually!

This study is going to take months!

But watch this space..

 In the meanwhile.. I've had a great antique map framed.. 

  

 Decided on the grey 

Be prepared to have patience! I've got a few trips coming up between this decor project..

so.. it might take a while.. but I'll get there in the end! 

 Aah.. color coordinated book shelf! Yes.. that's great idea! 

And black lamp shades.. mmm, yes with the grey and all my pictures.... 

and.. and.. and..

 Teak boats drifting slowly on the Irrawaddy River Myanmar.. 

 Gorgeous old fashioned bathrooms to enjoy

 

 Those black and white tiles.. remind me of my first kitchen.. I had them back in the 70's - still favorite 

 Back to drifting.. this time Ha Long Bay Vietnam.. gorgeous teak again.. 

 Dark cozy hotel rooms.. full of character and deluxe and charm! 

This one is the Hotel D La Opera Hanoi.. Its gorgeous! 

 This is their dining room.. breakfasts and dinners here are very special!

 I adore cane chairs on great sunny veranda's.. time to take yourself out for a while! 

This one is Batholomeus Klip in South Africa.. a working sheep/buffalo breeding farm, just delightful! 

As often as I can.. I will return there! 

 A good glass of red.. South African or Australia.. same, same.. and a nice lamb cutlet! mmm!  

Now this is the color we've decided for the study walls.. sweet currant! yay.. yay.. happy happy! 

 

Some new paintings I'm eyeing .. for the lounge walls.. you like?..

Its amazing what makes my world turn around..

Decor Wwwednesday again.?. gosh.. how quick does time fly?....

 Pot love today.. with pots this size.. you don't have to do anything else! They do! 

 Even just on in a corner.. with a little birdcage.. does.. more than enough! 

 

 In all shapes and sizes.. in all colors and hues.. I adore big pots.. 

 And butternut soup the color of Hoi and and sunsets over the Kim Bong River! .. and I love misty days at Banyan Tree Laguna.. the beach is empty.. the terracotta tiled bungalows are red.. 

 And I adore red display stands.. and red lacquered boxes.. and red dresses.. 

 I adore pots.. pots of another kind as well.. this one is an opium pot.. cute as.. came from Russian Market in Phnom Penh Cambodia.. and my lovely red lacquered box?.. Vietnam.. its a beaut! 

 I did mention I love opium ?.. 

 And train journeys.. 

and sunsets, the color of my pumpkin soup.. aah.. I have a friend called Pumpkin.. she's the sweetest! 

Strange how we start off on one thought, and our mind takes us on a journey.. 

Aah.. I love ....Chinese windows.. 

Decor Wednesday.. day dreaming?.. make those dreams come true!

 I'm dreaming of painting our white walls in our study/library dark grey with white accents..

 Janelle.. you're an inspiration..

 

 We have a lot of dark mahogany wood in our study.. and I love this idea with the black framed pics..

 Also stunning wallpaper..

I also love the new idea of painted furniture.. with Annie .. and a great image transferred onto desk top.

 This shade of lighter grey could also work..

 But.. then again.. what about this splash of color.. wowie!

 Simple breathtaking!

 

 I do prefer the dark walls now.. especially with the dash of lime green and white .. ooh.. its gorgeous!

 Lime works amazing with black and white...

 

 But oh.. look at these stunning orange walls.. wowioe! especially with that white linen! Love those scatters.

 

Think I'll settle on the dark walls, .. now to convince my painter Mr F...
